David Gorman
In his role as President and CEO of David Gorman & Associates, Inc., David provides consulting services to both retail and supplier clients.
He began his retail career at Venture Stores, Inc., a Division of the May Company, in April 1973. He served as Director of Shortage Control and Inventory Administration until leaving Venture in August 1980.
In September 1980, Mr. Gorman joined Wal-Mart as Director of Internal Audit. He served in that position until 1983 when he was promoted to Vice President of Loss Prevention. At the time of his retirement from Wal-Mart in January, 2002, he had corporate-wide responsibility for risk control, quality assurance, and loss prevention.

Has been a member of ASIS International since 1983, and currently serves on the Retail Loss Prevention Council. He was chair of the council in 2006 & 2007.

Served as chairman of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Loss Prevention Conference Steering Committee for two terms and as a member of the committee for 20 years.
- Provides presentations on a variety of business related topics to U.S. and international audiences as a member of the National Speakers Association.
Prior to beginning his career, David served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. He is a Viet Nam veteran and was awarded two Purple Hearts for wounds received in action. In 1972 he was awarded a BBA from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Illinois.
